Reading from Resonance: What Is Time?

What is “time,” really?

Is it what the ticking of the clock marks?
A flow from past to present to future?
Or… is it a mirage created by thought?

We live each day bound by time—
regretting the past, worrying about the future.
But what if it is not time that binds us,
but thought itself that generates time?

A World Where Only “Now” Exists

Many awakened beings have spoken of a simple truth:
only the present moment truly exists.

The past exists only in memory.
The future exists only in imagination.
And both are shaped by thought.

In other words,
we experience time only through thought.
And when thought becomes still—
time disappears.

Thought = Time

Spiritual teachers often say, “Let go of thought.”
They’re not rejecting thought itself.
They are pointing to a deeper truth:
thought creates “time,”
and we project suffering into that time.

Like this:
“I failed back then—so I’m no good.”
“What’s going to happen to me now…”

Thought constantly pulls us into past and future,
cutting us off from the living moment of “now.”

Resonance Happens Beyond Time

Resonance is the very texture of the present moment.

It arises when thought falls silent.
It transcends time—
a moment where your inner stillness
meets the deep silence of the world.

That’s why—
when we see through the illusion of time,
our perception of resonance shifts, too.

A breath…
the echo of a sound…
a glance exchanged with someone—
these are all resonances
that can only occur within the present moment.

What It Means to Transcend Time

Our true nature lies beyond time.

To say “you are a being beyond time”
is not merely a poetic or spiritual metaphor—
it is a real and tangible truth
that can be felt
by being fully present in this moment.

Transcending time
doesn’t mean erasing the past or future—
it means no longer being ruled by them.

It means remembering that everything is already contained
within this one single moment.

And maybe—
resonance is one way to remember that.
